Colton holding a lizard
We just got back from a trip to Goblin Valley and Little WildHorse Canyon. Thursday morning Kati woke up at 5am to get her work done so we could depart around 10 am to Central Utah. Little did we know that our arrival party welcomed us with microburst windstorms and.......sand. Thursday was very windy and we ingested a lot of dirt. It took us a little while to get over the fact that we weren't going to keep our trailer, our truck, our clothes, our hair, our kids (especially our kids), and our food clean and free from dirt. Despite the windy day we were able to play some paintball and go on a quick 4-wheeler ride.
Friday we hiked Little Wild Horse Canyon. Colton surprised us by hiking the entire mile back. The hike is actually 8 miles roundtrip but we only went 2-3 miles due to our luggage.

Saturday we visited the Goblins. Colton and Hunter played, jumped, and hiked around for a while. Colton's cousins Owen and Nora pretty much hung out in their backpacks behind their mothers. Greg and Chad were so gracious to let their wives carry the kids....jk I think Liesel and Amber actually wanted to lug them around.
The other highlight for Saturday was a 4-wheeler ride we took which included a spectacular debut of my brother Greg's new Polaris Sportsman 500 and a river. I have to mention that his wheeler had 10 miles on it previous to this 20 mile trip. The trail we took ended up at the riverbed of Muddy River. The name wasn't warning enough....Noooooooo! Greg had to see what was on the other side. After surging through the waters only to see that the other side warrented nothing more than we could already see, he decided to come back. Because the first run was a bit rough (his back end sunk down fairly deep and it was all he could do to get across) he decided to go a different route........He surged halfway through the river only to bury his wheeler in its grave. Pictures do not do the situation justice. With the help of two Polaris winches and a nearly broken leg from my other brother Brian, Greg's wheeler rolled over in its coffin and came to life again. Who knows what the cement-like sand has in store for what used to be a pimped out ride.
Hopefully I can post 4-Wheeler pics laterToday, we came home. Colton was an angel the entire trip even with his occasional whimperings and poor attempts at crying because my uncle's dog came too close to him. We had a fun trip taking our truck on its maiden voyage and look forward to many more fun times together.

Wow, what a trip. Sounds like a fun time and leave it to Greg to push his luck! I would love to see pics of the muddy wheeler. Lets get together here soon for a fun little evening like we always talk about. Take care and tell the fam hi.
Holding a lizard...that is impressive! Looks like so much fun!
Fun! Hopefully Greg's 4-wheeler works now. I miss that little c-slice
